Leave your Car seat in the car challenge ends today!! Post a comment and say how you did!

So I ended up switching to a convertable rear facing seat to make it easier. I have to say after the first couple weeks it really wasn’t a big deal. There were a couple times at first with the removable infant seat that I took him out in it. I do tend to notice more and more how uncomfortable the people carrying the infant care seats seem to be. I was concerned at the begining about the heat of the summer, but it really wasn’t an issue. It was hot, but we tended to just be inside mostly and only outside in the cooler parts of the day. Just wanted to post to say it is done. We used a variety of carriers mostly a ring sling and a wrap pretied to make it quicker. Thanks for everyone who participated I will do the drawing 07/18. So far it looks like the odds are pretty good:)

So post a comment and say how you did to be entered into the $100 gift certificate drawing!

The challenge was business as usual for us. We switched to a convertible carseat when Natalie was 6 weeks old, so taking it with us was not an option. LOL. Natalie is worn in a ring sling or two-shoulder carrier for all errands and during church. Around the house I wear her or she plays near me on the floor while I go about my day. She hates the playpen with a passion so we avoid putting her in it at all cost. Wearing my daughter for the past month has been great! She turns a year old in a few weeks, but I hope we still have plenty of babywearing days ahead of us.

This was great! I do have the infant carseat too, but usually carry him in a sling or wrap. Occasionally I would carry him into the house in the seat if he’d fallen asleep, but I found out that if I take him out of the seat and immediately put him in a sling, he will quickly fall back asleep! Yay!

Thanks Lorene! What a fun challenge. <3

I remembered, and we made it:) I only took him inside in the car seat once, when he actually fell asleep in it.

We did great! I love slinging my baby everywhere! :)

I did it! I even took pictures for Facebook of us wearing/carrying Isaac in various places, lol. :-) And it was great timing, too, because he’s nearly outgrown his bucket seat anyway and we’re going to be switching to a convertible seat very soon!

We did it! Thanks for the challenge and look forward to keeping it up.

We did it, too! As usual, I carried my baby around in the manduca a lot, becuase this is the only place she can sleep in during the day. But we needed the three exception days too, when I carried her to the house in the car seat and she slept, once she was teething and I was so glad she finally slept that I did not want to risk to wake her up and two times she slept in the seat for a short while because my big daugher was tired coming home and I had to take her to bed first.
It was really nice! Babywearing is quite normal for us, my little one has never been in a stroller and we love it.

We did it. It was easy because I have worn my 5 other kids. I use a ring sling for grocery shopping so it easy to nurse discreetly and around the house I normally use a front or back carrier. Front for using the vac and back for cooking. I tried milking the goats with her in the sling, but that was a bit hard if she fell asleep. It was easy to milk the goats with the 5 mth old in a front back and my 2 yr old in a back pack. My oldest daughter whose 10 even carried her twice in a front carrier!! She has an old sling that she carries various baby animals in!!
Thanks for a great contest!! God’s blessings to all!!

This was easy peasy for us. I hate the car seat and so does the babe, so we sling everywhere :) <>

Well we made it. Thankfully the weather didn’t get too hot and humid till July 10th, so it wasn’t a big deal to leave the seat in the van. My daughter is only 3 months old so for us it had to be a conscious effort to take her out of her seat. I ate several meals in restaurants with her in a sling or just on my lap. I am sure that she enjoyed this. For me it was a little harder to eat and not drop too many crumbs on her head! :-) I did leave her in her seat a few times when she had fallen asleep in her carrier so I could get myself, baby and 2 year old quickly into house. But I realized when I did this how HEAVY the seat was and how funny I walked! I plan to continue to try and do this and leave the seat behind, just not sure how to keep it cool in the hot car!;-) Thanks for the challenge!

Like a lot of mamas have already said, this wasn’t too hard for us. Baby Girl has never been a big fan of the carseat and it’s HUGE so I don’t like taking it out of the car anyway. She will ride in a stroller for half an hour or so without complaint and that was tempting, especially if we got out for our walk in the middle of the day. But I stayed strong ;-) (and got a little sweaty, but that’s alright!).
We used just about every kind of carrier, RS, MT, SSC, a pouch and a wrap. In fact, I ended up adding to our small stash a wee bit… so there’s that ;-).
Thank you Lorene- what a great idea!

This was definitely a challenge for us as my son is over 21lbs (having just turned 6 mo.) and is deep in the throes of teething. I’m pretty new to bw and own a pouch and Moby, so those were our only options (I can’t wait to build up a stash though, just waiting for the pp to do it;) I learned the hard way that a heavy, chunkymonkey won’t stay in a ruck in a stretchy carrier. Luckily my husband was helping me tie it on and caught the baby. I was able to vacuum for a bit with him on my back and that was amazing! He even fell asleep! Now the pouch we have is not adjustable so it’s very tight for him..I gave that up after 20 mins. and resigned myself to carrying him in my arms from then on. So all this time my little prince has been carried sans a cloth carrier in our arms (except for the 2x he fell asleep in the car and we brought him inside like that). I must say, my upper arm muscles grew stronger much faster than I ever imagined! But the baby was happy and so am I. Thanks!

Hello we are traveling and so we finally have internet service! Anyways we have been sticking with the angelpack for the challenge and loving it. Alex loves being carried and people will laugh at her saying how cute she is. This is her dream to be carried all of the time. So she enjoyed it as did I!
